The Kente Arts Alliance has another engaging season of performers in store for this year at some of the most intimate venues in the city.
The season starts with the Grammy nominated Baylor Project, with vocalist Jean Baylor and percussionist Marcus Baylor (Yellowjackets), October 27th at the Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild.
December 8, Saxophonist James Carter presents a tribute to creative saxophone icon Rahsaan Roland Kirk at the New Hazlett Theater, North Side.
March 2, award winning vocalist Charenee Wade presents the Music of Gil Scott-Heron at the Kelly-Strayhorn Theater in East Liberty.
May 4, Trombonist Craig Harris rolls into the Kelly-Strayhorn with the Craig Harris Septet, performing Brown Butterfly, a multi-media work based on the movement of Muhammad Ali.
