A couple of weeks ago, CBS on Saturday Morning did a very nice look back at the Iconic Art Kane photo published in Esquire Magazine at the start of 1959.

The photo was taken in 1958 with 57 iconic jazz artists. There’s a a new book about the photo and the times around it.

This week on “The Scene,” Scott Hanley visits with the newly announced Director for Jazz Studies at the University of Pittsburgh, Nicole Mitchell.
