Reclaimed vinyl on the Scene

Reclaimed vinyl on the Scene

While celebrating Richie Cole’s life and career a few weeks ago, we discovered some new places for records we have missed for many years - and now, they are found!

What’s most enjoyable (yet time consuming) about bringing vinyl records into the digital realm -unlike “ripping” a CD or uploading an audio file, you can only add the music one way - by playing the record. It was an immersive experience from which we are delighted to share the fruits of our labor.

Hear Eddie Jefferson, Bobby Enriquez, Richie Cole, George Auld, Woody Herman, Woody Shaw, Slide Hampton, Shirley Horn, Bruce Forman and more.

This Independence Day weekend, we thought we’d take a visit with one of our favorite performers, vocalist, pianist and songwriter Karrin Allyson to delve into her most recent project, “Shoulder to Shoulder: Centennial Tribute to Women’s Suffrage.”

It’s the 100-year anniversary of the nineteenth Amendment to the Constitution. We’ll hear music to commemorate it.
