A celebration of Westinghouse High School notables - especially from the jazz realm - including Erroll Garner, Ahmad Jamal, Frank Cunimondo, Dakota Staton, Billy Strayhorn and more.

Plus highlights of artists on the Scene with new releases like guitarist Shawn Purcell, drummer Reid Hoyson and Craig Davis - plus, visiting artist Eddie Palmieri and his Latin Jazz Band.

Marty Ashby, VP & Executive Producer of MCG Jazz visit with Dr. Ron Carter - noted bassist, and educator who now also has a long-in-the-making documentary coming to PBS the week of October 21.

Ron Carter shares just a few stories from his diverse career - from studying classical music and the cello early on, to becoming the go-to upright bassist on more than 2,400 recordings, including Miles Davis, Milt Jackson, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Freddie Hubbard and scores of recordings under his own leadership.
