The Erroll Garner Centennial plus 2 - and warm sounds from Carmel-by-the Sea on the Scene

Erroll Garner’s birthdate is June 15, 1921, making this the summer of his 102nd year. We take a dive off to the Monterey Peninsula and visit Carmel for a legendary, accidental recording.

Pittsburgh’s Erroll Garner was a graduate of Westinghouse High - and we’ll hear sounds from other Westinghouse High graduates, Ahmad Jamal and Frank Cunimondo, plus a tribute to Erroll from adopted Pittsburghers Ernest McCarty Jr and the late Geri Allen.

The Scene - Thursday at 6, Friday and Saturday at noon, Sunday afternoon at 5 on WZUM
