We visit with Reggie Watkins about the upcoming May 1st concert at the Carnegie in Carnegie - “Indestructible” featuring Roger Humphries - inspired by the 1965 Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers album “Indestructible” (Blakey’s last for Blue Note). Roger Humphries, inspired by Blakey was a young drummer ALSO on Blue Note records at that same time - with Horace Silver, making waves with “Song for My Father.”
We also preview the upcoming International Jazz Day concert in Chicago, April 30th at the Lyric Opera - and will also be live broadcast and streamed, worldwide.
