Louis Hayes Quintet – Serenade for Horace
Presented by Kente Arts Alliance
Saturday, December 9, 8PM
Jazz Drummer Louis Hayes was a teenager when he left his native Detroit to join legendary pianist and composer Horace Silver in New York.
Hayes is now leading a scintillating ensemble that includes bassist Dezron Douglas, vibraphonist Steve Nelson, pianist David Bryant, tenor saxophonist Abraham Burton, and trumpeter Josh Evans.
His latest recording, Serenade to Horace, is a tribute to his mentor and friend.
