This holiday season, City of Asylum has dived into their archives to bring us some of the most memorable moments of programs past.

Enjoy a tribute to Pittsburgh Jazz musician “Mr. Trombone” Harold Betters. This program features an eclectic ensemble of musicians, a trombone choir, and a jam session recorded with Harold @ City of Asylum in 2018– showcasing Harold Betters life’s work and the continuation of his legacy.

Harold Betters (March 21, 1928 – October 11, 2020) was an American jazz trombonist and iconic part of the Pittsburgh music scene for decades e player. Betters released nine LPs on Gateway Records, and three LPs for Reprise Records.
