The second concert of this series welcomes the “haunting voice” (New York Times) of  folk singer, composer-improviser, and musicologist Miriam Elhajli. Miriam lives in New York City where she performs & works as a researcher at The Association for Cultural Equity founded by Alan Lomax.

Tomas Fujiwara’s finger-on-the-pulse, 3-part jazz series presents the second installment of Sounds of Now. Curated by Tomas, a Brooklyn-based drummer and composer, member of the acclaimed jazz trio Thumbscrew, and member of City of Asylum’s Advisory Board, Sounds of Now showcases what’s new and happening in the realm of jazz.
