Improvisation and the Brain with Helen Sung and Dr. Howard Aizenstein - Frick Fine Arts Auditorium, Pitt, Oakland. - Lecture and Concert
Drawing on her experience as a jazz artist-in-residence at Columbia University’s Mortimer B. Zuckerman Mind Brain Behavior Institute, Sung—together with Dr. Aizenstein, whose groundbreaking neuroimaging research explores how Alzheimer’s disease affects the brain—will discuss how improvisation, musical or otherwise, may have positive effects on brain function. The event will also feature Sung’s jazz piano performance.
