The Pittsburgh based group Indestructible celebrates the music and legacy of The Jazz Messengers, performing compositions by Wayne Shorter, Lee Morgan, Curtis Fuller, Cedar Walton and others. 

Indestructible is a jazz sextet led by trombonist Reggie Watkins and features master drummer Roger Humphries. As a you musician, Humphries was influenced and mentored by his godfather and leader of The Jazz Messengers, Art Blakey. “It is a special treat to hear Roger in this musical context…”, says Reggie Watkins.  “Given the history and connection between the two drummers, Roger Humphires is the perfect drummer to pay tribute to the great Art Blakey.” Indestructible showcases some of the region’s most talented musicians like Michael Tomaro (sax), Tommy Lehman (trumpet), Howie Alexander (piano), Jordan McBride (bass), and several others.
