Tony Levin with jazz, upstate New York and a Pittsburgh Visit in the MCG Jazz Spotlight

The Levin Brothers are coming to Pittsburgh - to “This is Red” on Sunday, September 18.

The show is “The Levin Brothers: an evening of jazz +” with compositions by Paul Simon, Peter Gabriel, King Crimson, Ennio Morricone, Jimi Hendrix & more, joined by flutist Ali Ryerson.

Bassist Tony Levin of the group has roots in upstate New York, as does MCG Jazz’s Marty Ashby. This time on the program, they share stories and music of connections over the decades - including sounds bands Tony has worked with over his career - including Chuck Mangione, Herbie Mann, Gary Burton, Buddy Rich and Steps Ahead. Tony’s career has also had him working with everyone from Paul Simon to major tours with Peter Gabriel and King Crimson.
