60 years ago - Roger Humphries went into Rudy Van Gelder’s studio in New Jersey for his first time - with Horace Silver and the iconic Horace Silver record SONG FOR MY FATHER was the final result.

We visit with Roger about that - about the first anniversary of the renaming of a Northside street to Roger Humphries Way - and about the upcoming Roger Humphries Boat Ride on the Three Rivers - June 29th - including special guest - trumpeter Sean Jones.

Sean has a new recording out -with NYO Jazz from Carnegie Hall - recorded in Johannesburg, South Africa

Plus - just released by ECM records on the June 12th birthday of the late Chick Corea, the premiere of a of “The Visitors,” a duo work written by Chick Corea for vibraphonist Gary Burton and Pianist Kirill Gerstein - a newly discovered recording from the Gilmore Festival in Michigan from 2012.
