Perfect Weather, Music for Days and Pittsburgh This Weekend - the Scene on WZUM

This is the week (and Weekend) for the Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival - the 15th Festival in the most recent iteration - this year, on Liberty Avenue, in front of the August Wilson African American Cultural Center.

A quick listen on WZUM for the scene has a visit with Janis Burley, leader of both the August Wilson Center and the PIJF - Plus, some comments from vocalists Michael Mayo and Ekep Nkwelle, guitarist John Shannon and saxophonist Branford Marsalis - plus music from them and Kandace Springs, Theron Brown, Etienne Charles and Orrin Evans.

WZUM will be on hand, live, for a Taste of Jazz Friday night to full days and evenings of Jazz downtown on Saturday and Sunday.
