We visit with guitarist Bobby Broom - who will be a clinician and performer for the 56th PittJazz Seminar and concert November 2-7th. He’ll be guesting with guitarist Peter Bernstein, Organist Ben Patterson, another notables like John Shannon and Yoko Suzuki on Saturday November 7th.
Broom also has a new release out, a tribute to saxophone Colossus Sonny Rollins (who Broom toured with for years). The CD is called “A note of Thanks.” Bobby Broom, a native New Yorker, tells of how moving to Chicago was an important life-change that led him to new discoveries about his music.
We also catch up with saxophonist Tony Campbell - whose weekly jam session at Wallace’s Whiskey Room at the Hotel Indigo in East Liberty seems like old times and also something new.
