Harry Cardillo visits WZUM and a Tribute to Bobby
Pianists Harry and Bobby Cardillo are well known in Pittsburgh. Bobby passed away in 2019, while his son returned to the area in the early 2000’s, but hasn’t been busy on the scene for a while.
That is changing - with a July 16 a concert at Squirrel Hill Christian Church featuring the Harry Cardillo Trio and special guests - vocalist Michele Bensen and reed master Lou Schreiber.
We talked with Harry about his music, his father and the influences of Ahmad Jamal and McCoy Tyner early in Harry’s career. We also hear music with Bobby Cardillo, Sandy Staley, Tim Eyermann and Lou Schreiber and Michele Bensen.
