Pittsburgh Jazz is Flying high in JazzWeek - and on the MCG Jazz Spotlight Show

Marty Ashby features top tracks from the Jazz Week charts, highlighting some of the most played jazz recordings on radio stations across the country (including JazzWeek reporter WZUM!).

Among the featured recordings are Max Leake’s Threads and the WDR Big Band’s Bluegrass, both earning significant radio play nationwide and showcasing the depth of the MCG Jazz Record Label catalog. Reggie Watkins’ Rivers adds a powerful local voice to the mix, further reinforcing Pittsburgh’s rich jazz heritage. A new Reid Hoyson projects adds horns to the talents of drummer Hoyson with Hendrik Meurkens and more.

Tune in for tracks by MCG Jazz fan favorites John Clayton & Mulgrew Miller, Bob James & Dave Koz—plus a live track from James Moody’s 80th Birthday Party performance at The Blue Note.

The MCG Jazz Spotlight show airs on Friday and Sunday at 6pm and Saturday at 1pm on The Pittsburgh Jazz Channel WZUM.
