WZUM is the Pittsburgh Jazz Channel.
WZUM is Public Radio

Over the last six years, the Pittsburgh Jazz Channel has been building a 24/7 public radio service that embraces the musical legacy of the late, lamented, WDUQ.  As one of jazz history’s most important cities, Pittsburgh deserves a radio station that will focus on offering this music, online and on the air, bringing our community together through this unique American gift to the world.

  • In 2011, Pittsburgh Public Media (PPM) launched the online Pittsburgh Jazz Channel
  • 2013, we added WZUM 88.1 FM, Bethany, WV
  • 2016, we acquired WZUM AM 1550, Braddock, PA

Now, the Federal Communications Commission has granted us a permission to build a  rare, new FM signal to cover the heart of Pittsburgh. We are in the planning and construction phase, and hope to have 101.1 FM on the air in the early fall.

WZUM and the Pittsburgh Jazz Channel are a public service of Pittsburgh Public Media, a 501(c)(3) non-profit public charity.
