Trumpeter Sean Jones is among the most immensely expressive, versatile and gifted players of his generation. The composer, trumpeter, educator, and activist will perform a concert of American Popular Songs accompanied by a double string quartet.
A native of Warren, Ohio, Sean was a regular part of the Pittsburgh Jazz Scene for many years, including on faculty at the Duquesne University School of Music. Heavily involved in education, Jones serves as the Berklee College of Music’s Chair of the Brass Department. He recently accepted a new position as Chair in Jazz Studies at the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University.
