The weeklong Pitt Jazz Seminar culminates with two major concerts on November 1st and 2nd

The 49th Annual Pitt Jazz Seminar and Concert under the leadership of new Jazz Studies Program Director Nicole Mitchell will feature two public concerts—a solo performance by vocalist and pianist Amina Claudine Myers on Friday, Nov. 1, at Bellefield Hall Auditorium, followed by the larger traditional concert Saturday, Nov. 2 at Carnegie Music Hall.

Pitt Jazz Week will also feature performances by Pitt jazz students, free on-campus artist seminars, two community appearances and a panel discussion.

Jazz Panel Discussion: Performing Creative Resistance
Panelists including Jazz Studies Associate Professor Michael Heller and Assistant Professor Aaron Johnson will explore how jazz relates to social justice.
