Pianist Emmet Cohen and more at the Monroeville Jazz Festival, Today!

An afternoon and evening of varied styles of jazz is on the docket for the 16th Annual Monroeville Jazz Festival starting at 2:30 Saturday August 18.

Funky Fly Project– beginning at 2:30 pm

A funk and jazz group with Winston Bell, Henry Schultz, Brandon Terry, and Eric Dowdell Jr. 

Yoko Suzuki Trio– beginning at 4:00 pm

An alto saxophonist and pianist, a composer and a scholar, Yoko Suzuki. She combines her love of learning with performing her unique style of jazz.

Jevon Rushton with Stacia Abbott– beginning at 5:30 pm

Drummer and percussionist William Jevon Rushton, joined by vocalist Stacia Abbot. Jevon has received many awards  and recently was honored to arrange the music for An Evening with the Musical Compositions of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood presented by the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust.

Emmett Cohen Trio– beginning at 7:00 pm

A recognized prodigy, pianist Emmett Cohen. Cohen has appeared in world-renowned jazz events including the Monterey, Newport, North Sea, Ern and Edinburgh jazz festivals and the New Orleans and Heritage Festival. Emmett Cohen is a YAMAHA artist.
